Organizations I’m Involved In: Alpha Phi, Not On My Campus
During my time on the Forty Acres, I've sought out opportunities to make an impact. Freshman year I joined Alpha Phi, a Panhellenic sorority on campus, where I first served as the Director of Sisterhood for my pledge class and later for my chapter. Later on during my freshman year, I channelled my passion towards the issue of sexual assault, serving as a co-founder of Not On My Campus - a student-led initiative to break the silence surrounding sexual assault. I have continued to help this organization grow throughout my years at UT and now serve as the President of this impactful organization. I recognize the incredible experiences the University of Texas has provided me throughout the years. I currently work with the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs, which helps make college more affordable while working with two of my greatest passions - students and communication. While I have always had an interest in government, it was not until this year that I decided to pursue Student Government. I had viewed SG in the past as an organization not as inclusive and inviting as it could've been but recognize this opportunity I have now to change that image for years to come. I want to ascertain that no one else is discouraged from sharing their voice on campus - whether it’s regarding financial aid or facing fears of sexual assault.
